+ random trawlings on the starship insanity

In order to answer a few questions that have recently popped up in the Funkaguestbooktron, I decided to shell out some hard-won information.

1) Can you please explain to me the purpose - if there was one - of that "poit blat" game?

In a nutshell, the 'poit blat' game, as you so quaintly put it, was the end result of a large Communist effort to subvert the capitalist West by means of small, localized introductions of theorized 'vectors', if you will, by which certain ideological 'viruses' could be delivered. The 'poit blat' game, like many of the so-called Red introduction pathways of that time, was a tool to induce random mental breakdown in certain segments of the population.

Since that time, many of the United States larger asylums have been filled with drooling, shaven-headed men and women, muttering to themselves around slack jaws and with staring eyes, 'poit. blat.'

In an interesting historical and literary sidenote, the phrase 'poit blat' also appears in J. K. Rowling's 'Harry Potter and the Capitalist American Pigdog', which leads many to believe that J. K. Rowling herself is, in fact, a large ex-KGB agent named Boris.
